IAAM is AN’s 2023 Project of the Year
Architect's Newspaper selected the International African American Museum as "winner among winners" among 128 finalists recognized in the magazine's annual Best of Design Awards.
The jury cited the project’s “extraordinary moral and architectural weight,” noting that “the building’s restraint is remarkable, even moving. The architects resisted the temptation to make the building itself a monument, instead ceding that role to the sacred ground beneath it.”
